Family Visits
Families have a great time here at the Botanic Garden.
Why?
Well, there’re lots of things to do - have a look at this great short film to get an idea (it features well known comedian Rhod Gilbert having fun with kids here).
This summer, we’ve got lots of themed days (Pond Dipping Mondays, Going Green Tuesdays, Time Travelling Wednesdays, Creepy Crawly Thursdays and Growing the Future Fridays). We’ve even got a special Vegetable Olympic Week (6th -10th August) when we’ll have lots of plant based Olympic events for families.
If you’re coming as a family, we think you’ll enjoy this Magical Mystery Tour. It’s a fun trail of the weird and wonderful aspects of the Garden. Be prepared to be asked to kiss a loved one, hug a healing stone, make a wish, play a tune and listen for an echo.
If your child just wants to play, not only do we have a huge amount of space run around in, we have our Roots and Shoots Adventure Zone, a willow play area with slides, climbing frames, tunnels and musical blocks.
We’ve also got a fantastic amount of great things to see here – have a look at our list of weird and wonderful things that will appeal to our younger visitors.
Finally, there’s the Wild Bunch, a special club for 5-16 year olds who want to keep coming back because they have such a great time here.
