Sustainable Energy
The Botanic Garden aims to be carbon neutral.
To help us do this we are looking at different ways of generating sustainable energy.
Have a look at various appraoaches we are taking – these might inspire you to try them at home, school, college or at work,
For a sustainable future….
- Turn off all non-essential appliances at the wall when not in use.
- At school have a team of energy monitors in every classroom responsible for ensuring lights and appliances are off when not in use and at the end of each day.
- Use low energy light bulbs – these last longer and use a lot less electricity.
- How about buying a solar/wind up torch or radio? They are great fun and will last a lifetime.
