Polecat caught on camera
After two years of trying to capture a picture of an otter at night, we have instead caught this picture of a polecat. We think it’s caught a young rabbit, others think it’s caught a frog. Any better ideas? The photo was taken adjacent to our Gatehouse and Plant Sales, on the edge of a [...]

The Towy Valley Vinatge Club had their crank up in the blazing sunshine at the Garden this weekend. We reckon this Standard was something of a stand out. Photo by Carl Stringer.

Our first ever story telling weekend was a real hit with visitors. Run at the end of February 2012, it was wonderfully co-ordinated by Cheryl Beer, and featured music and dancing to complement a great cast of storytellers. Photographs by Carl Stringer

This amazing fungus. Clavulina coralloides, was found growing amongst the leaf litter in Trawscoed Wood, the small wood near Principality House. There are over 2000 recordings of this across the UK but the only Carmarthenshire records are here and in Pont Felin Gat. Photo by Bruce Langridge

Stella Voci Opera
Four opera singers from the Royal Northern College of Music wowed visitors to the Great Glasshouse this Sunday. The young singing stars are raising money for the charity Concern Universal and will be performing their favourite music, including opera excerpts of Carmen, The Marriage of Figaro and The Pirates of Penzance. The four singers were soprano Rhiannon Herridge, [...]
No CommentsBelly dancers from St.Dogmaels
The new ceramic mosaic, in the Theatr Botanica foyer, was opened by former Welsh Government Minister Jane Davidson in late August. Seven community groups who helped make the mosaic came to the event, from as far as Anglesey, Llanelli, Monmouth, Newport, Cardiff and Llandovery. Why did the event feature these wonderful belly dancers from St.Dogmaels? Well, they helped make the [...]

Visitor Sophie Berg (from Sheffield) was at the Garden with her mum and her little friend Jon last week. Now Jon is very little because he is a model, recently released to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the first Action Man. He visited all parts of the Garden – can you recognise where?
