Garden is being more Dog

Garden is being more Dog

It’s time to mooch with your pooch at the National Botanic Garden of Wales with the return of Doggy Days.

The Carmarthenshire attraction has three dates for the diaries of dog-lovers: Friday June 6, Friday July 11 and Saturday September 20, which follow similar ‘trial’ days last year and earlier this.

dogs6Curator Simon Goodenough explained that Garden bosses had been given ‘paws’ for thought by would-be visitors: “The most frequently asked question by people planning a visit here is: ‘Are dogs allowed?’ so we are really reacting to public demand by holding these special days.”

Simon added that, normally, only guide dogs are allowed on to the 600-acre site, which includes a national nature reserve.

He added: “Because this is not the norm, we are asking people to act responsibly and be considerate as we are not geared up for poop scooping. There are some basic rules, too: such as dogs being kept on leads and that the leads be of the non-extendable type. We also ask that dogs be kept off the flower beds, kept out of the buildings and that owners clear up after their pets.”

The National Botanic Garden is open from 10am until 6pm. There is no entrance fee for dogs.

Mwy o Gŵn yn yr Ardd

Mae’n amser treulio mwy amser gyda’ch ci yng Ngardd Fotaneg Genedlaethol Cymru wrth i Ddiwrnodau i’r Cŵn ddychwelyd.

dogs1Mae gan yr atyniad hwn yn Sir Gaerfyrddin dri dyddiad ar gyfer dyddiaduron y rhai sy’n hoffi cŵn:  Dydd Gwener Mehefin 6, Dydd Gwener Gorffennaf 11, a Dydd Sadwrn Medi 20, sy’n dilyn diwrnodau ‘ar brawf’ tebyg y llynedd ac yn gynharach eleni.

Esboniodd y Curadur, Simon Goodenough, bod darpar ymwelwyr wedi achosi penbleth i reolwyr yr Ardd:  “Y cwestiwn a ofynnir fwyaf aml gan ddarpar ymwelwyr yma yw ‘A ganiateir cŵn?’, felly ry’n ni’n adweithio i alwad y cyhoedd trwy gynnal y diwrnodau arbennig hyn.”

Ychwanegodd Simon, fel arfer dim ond cŵn tywys a ganiateir ar y safle 600 erw, sy’n cynnwys gwarchodfa natur genedlaethol:  “Gan nad hwn yw’r drefn arferol, gofynnwn i bobl weithredu’n gyfrifol a bod yn ystyriol o eraill, gan nad ydyn ni hefyd yn darparu ar gyfer glanhau ar ôl baw cŵn.   Mae rhai rheolau sylfaenol hefyd:  rhaid i bob ci fod ar dennyn, ar ar dennyn na ellir ei ymestyn.   Gofynnwn hefyd i berchnogion gadw eu cŵn oddi ar welyau blodau, y tu allan i adeiladau, a bod y perchnogion hynny yn glanhau ar ôl eu cŵn.”

Mae’r Ardd Fotaneg Genedlaethol ar agor rhwng 10yb a 6.00p.   Does dim tâl mynediad i gŵn.

Don’t see a dog problem as long as owners are responsible and keep them on a short lead especially in outdoor places. Most National Trust places allow dogs and most attractions over England.
