The Gatehouse

The Gatehouse is situated at the bottom end of the Broadwalk and is the point of entry for visitors to the Garden. Designed by Foster and Partners, its shape is based on a Welsh roundhouse (like those seen at Castell Henllys in Pembrokeshire).
The roof of the building is circular and inverted. The wooden cladding around the building is Canadian red cedar.
