Coed Felin Gat

Near the entrance to the public pathway leading from the road into Coed Felin Gat is a well, probably intended by Paxton for use in his spa bath scheme.  This
is one of the two known bath houses in this area.  Passing through the quarry brings you to the spring.  This spring was used as an ornamental feature, enclosed in an arched recess, with a gargoyle head for a spout.  The path continues along the top of Pond Du and reaches the three-tier forty- foot cascade.
The Manpower Services Commission carried work out here for public access in 1985.  A programme of woodland regeneration is now underway.
Discussions as to what part this area of the estate will play are ongoing.
