Make a nature reserve in your garden

  • Leave a section of your garden to grow wild
  • Plant wildflower mixtures and let dandelions, thistles, buttercups and even nettles, brambles and other weeds grow there
  • Insects, birds and small mammals (such as voles) will hopefully be attracted to the area as they love this kind of environment
  • Placing a pile of logs in the wild area will attract all sorts of creepy crawlies
  • It is best to leave part of the lawn uncut until late summer when the seeds of the wild flowers will have formed
