Grow oranges & lemons

Pips from oranges, lemons, grapefruit, tangerines and limes are easy to grow indoors. They make nice, small, evergreen bushes, or even small trees if you put them in larger pots as they grow bigger. After a few years, large plants may produce white flowers. Lemon trees morangesight even produce fruit.

Collect pips from really ripe fruit and plants as soon as you can. Sow the seeds on their side about 1.5 cms deep in compost in a small pot. Place the pot in a plastic bag, keep the compost damp and place the pot in a warm place.

When you see leaves shooting, keep it in a sunny place. Move to bigger pots as the tree grows.
