Laura's Garden Sept/Oct
Laura Davies is our senior horticulturalist at the Botanic Garden - below she gives her tips on some of the things you can do in your garden at this time of year!

"To keep your flower display going right through until autumn, keep dead-heading perennials and add some late-flowering daisies to your borders."

"September is a good time to divide and replant herbaceous plants because the soil is still warm. It's also a good month for planting fruit trees and bushes."

" If you have some space, sow some spinach, winter lettuce or plant some onion sets. Instead of leaving bare soil in the vegetable patch, sow a green manure like mustard or Italian ryegrass. It'll improve the structure and help keep it moist during summer."

"Daffodils and tulips are best planted this month too - and now's the time to plan ahead and get your water butt ordered to beat next year's spring rush."
