National Nature Reserve

It's official - the Garden's 400-acre organic working farm (Waun Las) has been named as a National Nature Reserve by the Countryside Council for Wales!

This means the farm estate is now able to manage their own stock of Welsh breeds of sheep and cattle, and farm the land to encourage plant diversity. There are footpaths which visitors can follow around the reserve, where you can see an amazing range of wild plant and animal life. We already know about over 1000 different species in the reserve, of plants, birds, butterflies, bees, mammals, amphibians, grasshoppers and lots more!
