Satisfaction (almost) Guaranteed

The visitor survey, conducted between June and September this year by Beaufort Research, has been welcomed by bosses at the Garden as another obvious sign that the future is bright for the most visited Garden in Wales.

Director Kevin Lamb said: “To have 99 per cent of our visitors expressing general satisfaction with their visit and 98 per cent reviewing it as either “enjoyable” or “very enjoyable”, is a great result for us.

“We also scored very well in the “would you recommend to others” question, with 98 per cent of those questioned replying that, yes, they would recommend to others the Garden as a place to visit.

“A very important question for us was about the likelihood of a return visit and we scored handsomely on that measure, too, with 62 per cent of people saying they were “very likely” to return and 21 per cent “likely” to come back.

“All in all, the market research was very favourable indeed but it also gave us interesting results on areas where we clearly need to concentrate our efforts as well as continuing to offer people a great day out.”

The visitor survey involved 552 face-to-face interviews with a cross-section of visitors as they left the Garden. There was also an “awareness and perceptions” survey carried out with 1,000 in-home interviews with people from all parts of Wales – which revealed that more than 1-in-4 people (27%) questioned have visited the Garden

Beaufort Research managing director Fiona McAllister said: “The study shows that the overwhelming majority of visitors are extremely happy with the Garden and what it has to offer.

“We carry out a large number of visitor surveys and these satisfaction levels are among the highest we’ve seen, so the Garden can be very proud of its performance.”

Highlights from the findings were:

• 99 per cent of visitors expressed satisfaction with their visit generally

• 99 per cent of visitors expressed satisfaction with the ease of getting around the Garden

• 98 per cent described their visit as enjoyable or very enjoyable

• 96 per cent were happy with the car parking

• 95 per cent had their expectations met or bettered

• 91 per cent happy with the toilets and

• 86 per cent of visitors were happy that they were getting value for money for food and drink at the restaurant and cafes.

• 83 per cent likely to visit the Garden again
