30. Welsh Country Walk
Garden visitors can experience the delights of a traditionally managed hay meadow and wander down an old country lane, just 5 minutes walk away from our Stable Block restaurant. Part of Waun Las NNR, the hay meadow, known as Trawscoed North, has blossomed with a wide range of wild flowers since we started to cut it once the wild flowers have had time to flower and set seed.
From May through to August you get the chance to see waves of wild flowers including Greater Butterfly Orchid, Heath Spotted Orchid, Yellow Rattle, Greater Burnet, Devil’s-bit Scabious, Burnet Saxifrage, Bugle, Ragged Robin, Pignut, Greater Knapweed and lots more.
Keep an eye open for the rich variety of bird, bee and butterfly life here. The walk is about 1km long and stout footwear is recommended.
