Living Willow – building a living willow structure and maintenance

A course for teachers and teaching assistants that covers the cultivation and use of willow as a curriculum resource. Participants will be shown how to lay out, plant and construct with living willow and will help build a small living willow in situ. Care and maintenance for willow structures will be taught as well as what to do with your willow including a variety of small craft projects suitable for children of all ages. Full set of written instructions will be provide of all the projects covered on the day.

This course gives teachers the opportunity to revisit the ethos behind Fairtrade, look at surrounding issues and gives ideas on practical ways of teaching the Fairtrade in the classroom. Experience the habitat of many tropical Fairtrade plants on our tour while exploring how to strengthen the Fairtrade agenda sustainably.
Willow Summer Crafts for the Summer

Course participants will make a variety of classroom projects suitable for children of all ages including small sculpture projects such as bird feeders, butterflies, flowers and dragonflies.
