Solar day is a real bright spot
Why is the sun hot? What are sunspots? When will it end? Just some of the questions that Swansea Astronomical Society will be trying to answer on ‘Solar Day’ – being held at the National Botanic Garden of Wales on Sunday August 5th.
Members of the Swansea-based star-gazing society will be training their telescopes on the summer sky so that you can safely look at the sun. There will be two talks – at 11.30 and 3pm in the Theatr Botanica. As well as talks and telescopes, there will be a chance to listen to the sun and find out if it is happy, angry or sad.
There will also be a telescope clinic, too so, if you want to know more about astronomy and Telescopes, or have a Telescope and don’t know how to use it, bring it along.
The Garden is open from 10am until 6pm.
