Expo garden is made in Wales / Gardd o Gymru’n cael ei harddangos
The National Botanic Garden of Wales has been invited by the Welsh Government to come up with a bespoke design to grace the Chongqing National Garden Expo.
Chongqing is Wales’ regional partner in China and it is the first time that that nation’s premier exhibition has been staged there. In building social bridges and breaking down cultural barriers, horticulture and the love of planting have a major role to play but to replicate the Welsh landscape in subtropical climes was no simple task.
Rupert Jensen was the Garden’s man on a mission. Read his exclusive report from the other side of the Great Wall in the latest edition of the Garden’s magazine Yr Ardd.
Gardd o Gymru’n cael ei harddangos
Mae Gardd Fotaneg Genedlaethol Cymru wedi derbyn gwahoddiad gan Lywodraeth Cymru i lunio gardd bwrpasol ar gyfer Arddangosfa Gardd Cenedlaethol Chongqing.
Chongqing yw partner Rhanbathol Cymru ynTsieina, a dyma’r tro cyntaf i’r arddangosfa gael ei chynnal yno. Wrth godi pontydd cymdeithasol a goresgyn rhwystrau diwylliannol, mae gan arddio a chariad at blannu rôl allweddol i chwarae. Tasg anodd iawn oedd ailgreu tirwedd Cymru mewn hinsawdd is-drofannol.
Rupert Jensen oedd cynrychiolydd yr Ardd yno. Mae ei adroddiad arbennig o thu draw i’r wal enfawr, i’w weld yn rhifyn diweddaraf ein cylchgrawn, sef Yr Ardd.
