Fashion Show/Sioe Ffasiwn
Eat your heart out Project Catwalk! Coleg Sir Gar’s Graduate Fashion Show is about to take centre stage at the National Botanic Garden of Wales.
Against the beautiful backdrop of the Great Glasshouse and hosted by S4C’s Huw Rees, this stunning event will showcase the work of fashion students and honours degree students at the college and in partnership with pupils from Ysgol Bro Myrddin. Millinery, special occasion, bridal and couture gowns will also be on show.
The collections on show include Yasmin Pugh’s inspired creations based on folk and fairytales while Amy Mair Phillips, from Llanddewi Velfrey, will display six garments with unusual combinations of decoration and encrustations. And, following the ‘unusual’ theme, Lowri Court, 21 from St Clears, inspired by the inner workings of the human body, uses clever fabric techniques and textures to create her collection.
Head of fashion at Coleg Sir Gar Jamie Hawkins is confident the event will be a real crowd puller: “The students have worked very hard to create their final collections and this is a very important occasion especially for our graduates who will be leaving next month to seek fame and fortune in the exciting world of fashion. I am sure that this show will demonstrate how much they have learned from a mix of industry experience and structured course work”.
Tickets for the event are available from the College
The fashion show takes place on June 23 at 7pm and tickets cost £10 which includes entry to the gardens. Call 01554 748208 or 01554 748300 for more details.
Bydd Gardd Fotaneg Genedlaethol Cymru yn rhoi llwyfan i Sioe Ffasiwn Graddedigion Coleg Sir Gâr o’r enw Prosiect Catwalk.
Gyda’r T? Gwydr Enfawr prydferth fel cefndir iddo a Huw Rees o S4C yn ei gyflwyno, bydd y digwyddiad hyfryd hwn yn arddangos gwaith myfyrwyr ffasiwn a myfyrwyr gradd y coleg ynghyd â disgyblion Ysgol Bro Myrddin. Bydd hefyd hetiau, ffrogiau ar gyfer achlysuron arbennig, ffrogiau priodas a couture yn cael eu harddangos.
Bydd y digwyddiad proffesiynol hwn yn cynnwys casgliad ysbrydoledig Yasmin Pugh sy’n seiliedig ar straeon tylwyth teg a gwerinol tra bydd Amy Mair Phillips, o Landdewi Efelffre, yn arddangos chwech dilledyn gyda chyfuniadau anarferol o arddurniadau a chraweniadau. Yn parhau gyda’r cyd-destun ‘anarferol’, fe welwch Lowri Court, sy’n 21 o Sancler ac sydd wedi’i hysbrydoli gan y corff dynol, yn defnyddio technegau clyfar gyda ffabrig i greu ei chasgliad.
Mae Jamie Hawkins, Pennaeth Ffasiwn yng Ngholeg Sir Gâr, yn hyderus y bydd y digwyddiad yn denu cynulleidfa eang: “Mae’r myfyrwyr wedi gweithio’n ddiflino i greu eu casgliadau terfynol ac mae’n ddigwyddiad pwysig iawn yn enwedig i’n graddedigion a fydd yn gadael fis nesaf i geisio’u ffortiwn ym myd cyffrous ffasiwn. Rwy’n siwr y bydd y sioe yn arddangos yr hyn y maen nhw wedi’i ddysgu o brofiad yn y diwydiant a gwaith cwrs strwythuredig”.
Cynhelir y digwyddiad ar 23 Mehefin am 7pm ac mae’r tocynnau’n costio £10 sy’n cynnwys mynediad i’r gerddi, ffoniwch 01554 748208/748300 i brynu tocyn.
