Garden Date for Bretons
A Breton band will be playing celtic music and dancing in celebration of a
special ‘twinning’ milestone at a local landmark.
The Lesneven-based ensemble Bagad Bro Even will be in the National Botanic Garden
on Friday (May 25) to celebrate 30 years of twinning between Carmarthen and the
Brittany town.
A party of around 70 will visit the Garden and the 30-strong band and dancers
will perform – in full Breton costume, complete with headdresses – from about
10.30am.
One of the co-ordinators of the visit, Elaine Jones said: “They should draw quite a
crowd. The Bretons are very proud of their music, dance and culture and this
band is very loud and will, no doubt, be heard all across the Garden.”
The Garden is open from 10am-6pm. For more info email info@gardenofales.org.uk or call 01558 667149.
