Garlanded choir performs among the flowers
One of the most decorated choirs in Wales will perform at the National Botanic Garden on Saturday (March 2).
The multi-award winning Côr Meibion Llanelli are taking to the stage in the Great Glasshouse from 2pm to entertain our St David’s Day weekend crowds.
Formed 48 years ago, the choir has been successful at all the major choral competitions that Wales has to offer, won plaudits and tributes around the world and raised thousands for charity along the way.
A choir spokesman said: “The choristers have raised thousands of pounds for charities such as Cancer and Leukaemia Research, The Red Cross, Heart Foundation and Tenovus as well as local charities and school groups.
“We are very much looking forward to singing in Lord Foster’s stunning Great Glasshouse.”
The choir rehearses twice weekly on Monday and Thursday evenings at Furnace Community Hall, 7pm start. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
Admission to the Garden is £8.50 (concessions £7) for adults and £4.50 for children. For more information about this or other events, call 01558 667149, email info@gardenofwales.org.uk or go to www.gardenofwales.org.uk
The Garden is open from 10am to 4.30pm (last entry 3.30pm).
