Hobbies a hit at the Garden
There’ll be hobbies and handicrafts of all kinds at the National Botanic Garden of Wales on
June 2-5. From displays of dolls houses by West Glamorgan Dolls House Society, model railways, jewellery, quiltwork, lace makers and photography to horticulture, gardeners sessions, and canoeing on the lakes, there’ll be
something for all the family.
Train enthusiasts will have plenty to interest them in Principality House, and there’s a chance to ‘take your partner by the hand’ in Millennium Square where there’ll be some American line dancing.
Jugglestruck will be around to entertain the children on Saturday and Sunday (2 & 3
June) and the world famous Quack Pack will be wowing the crowds on the Monday
(4 June).
The Great Glasshouse will be alive with exhibitions by the British Wood Carving Association, along with regional woodturners turning heads as they show off their talents.
Dinefwr Photographic Society will bring a display of work and there will be talks and slides for aspiring David Baileys from West Wales and beyond.
Organiser Les Bryan said: “It’s set to be a tremendous event for the Bank Holiday weekend. The Hobbies Weekend was a great success last year and the Garden is a lovely setting for it. We’re very excited about it.”
Hobbies Weekend at the National Botanic Garden is on June 2, 3, 4 and 5 June from 10am-6pm each day.
