Day of Dance

Day of Dance

Dancers from all over Wales and beyond will be converging on the National Botanic Garden for a day of dance on Saturday July 14.

The first step in this colourful day of dance is taken at 10.30am when all participants take part in the Big Parade from the Garden’s entrance up the Broadwalk. Then, the dancing begins.

Organiser Bobbie Evans says: “There will be scores of dancers performing all different styles in different venues around the Garden – it is going to be a lovely and very colourful occasion.”

Will there be an opportunity to take an active part in the dancing?
    Thank you.

Yes you can get involved. You can join in the social dancing which takes place in the morning (approx 11.00a.m.- 12.15 p.m.) and at the end of the afternoon (17.15-17.45). If you are not actually asked to be a partner of one of the dancers, you can just join the circle – usually with a partner, or else try and indicate you need a partner.
It will be more difficult for you to join in the more formal dances unless you have done Welsh or English dances as you will need to know the movements, but if you look out for a lady called Bobbie who’ll be in a black and white costume with tall hat, she will try to see if we can include you in some of those dances also.
