Starry, starry night . . .

Starry, starry night . . .

Star-gazers have their fingers crossed for a good view of some heavenly bodies at the National Botanic Garden on Friday November 23.

Organisers from Swansea Astronomical Society are praying for clear skies as this is an ideal opportunity to see Jupiter and the Moon, not to mention the Seven Sisters and a host of other fascinating objects.

SAS member Colin Miles said: “If you have been inspired by Brian Cox and the BBC TV programme Stargazing Live – maybe you’ve even bought a telescope or are thinking of buying one – come along, bring your telescope and, if you are having problems,  talk to the experts.”

Gallery not found. Please check your settings. In addition to the telescope clinics, there will be various displays and presentations and SAS member Brian Stokes will give a talk entitled  Why is the Sun a poor Time Keeper’.

The Star Party is on from 6pm-9pm and entrance is £3 per person with under-16s are free (entry via the Corporate Entrance – it’ll be signposted).
