Visitor Comments
We’re pleased to say that ‘Doggie Day’ passed without any hitches. All dog owners acted responsibly and were respectful of other visitors, as well as clearing up fully after their dogs. The result was a range of very favourable feedback from people who had not previously felt able to come to the Garden. However, please be assured that we intend to review and consider matters for the future very carefully. Whether the exercise will be repeated, perhaps on an occasional basis, is a matter for further consideration by the management team. None-the-less the views expressed by Members and visitors, both for and against, have been noted and are respected.
Below is a selection of recent comments from our visitors. If you would like to add a comment either about your visit to the Garden or about the website, please email info@gardenofwales.org.uk

| Caerphilly | Quite awesome, two words is perhaps an injustice to describe, but I have a 6 year old waiting to go! | |
| Llandrindod Wells | Great train ride, informative driver. | |
| Brilliant, recommend to our friends, things we take for granted right under our noses. Plants are more than just to look at, their medicinal properties are necessary for our wellbeing. | 04/01/2013 | |
| Pontarddulais | Heard it was free to visit in January by word of mouth, thought it’d be great taster as hadn’t been but meant to many times. Will definitely be back, lots more to see than expected – even on a cold winter’s day! Bendigedig! | 02/01/2013 |
| Swansea | Fascinating tour round the lakes – superb views. Really enjoyed the background history we were given, thank you. | 28/12/2012 |
| Llanelli | How about including the ‘common’ names of plants as well as their latin names? | 28/12/2012 |
| Penygroes | Great Father Christmas! | |
| Laugharne | Visual treats and tasty eats! | 26/01/2013 |
| Laugharne | Really interesting and we all thoroughly enjoyed. Little one loved fungi exhibition. | 26/01/2013 |
| North Wales | Enjoyed visit but would like to come back in warmer weather when plants are in flower! Interesting dome and apothecary, very enjoyable. | 27/02/2013 |
| Carmarthen | Magical half hour listening to a young lady playing a harp in the Great Glasshouse at Christmas, also folk singer and drummer today. I came to look at the snowdrops and huge tree trunks. | 03/03/2013 |
| Guildford | Well presented, very interesting – better than Eden Project! | |
| Very enjoyable, weather not so good. | ||
| Carmarthen | I think everyone should come here because it is fun! | |
| Chepstow | Excellent day out! We enjoyed everything about this place, including food. Keep up the good work and advertising!! | 08/02/2013 |
| Llanelli | Had a lovely day – back again in summer next. | 02/02/2013 |
| Burry Port | Garden maintenance vastly improved since last visit (2 years). Glasshouse very refreshing and pleasant on a winter’s day. Keep up the good work. | 05/02/2013 |
| Swansea | Lovely, spacious, informative, lots of little gems to see like the fungus exhibition. Well done! | 20/02/2013 |
| Shrewsbury | I thought that the Gardens and everything was beautiful. | |
| Fishguard | Very impressed with the standard of work by the maintenance men Roger and Wynne. Two helpful and agreeable chaps. | 21/02/2013 |
| Port Talbot | Brilliant day out! Love the cafes! Lots to see and do, staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Make the donation book shop more known to visitors, everything else is just right. | 18/02/2013 |
| Tumble | A very enjoyable visit | 01/03/2013 |
| Llanarthne | Came for course and brought partner for dog day. Brilliant, excellent idea to allow dogs. | 09/03/2013 |
| Fishguard | Brilliant day (dog day) – hope you have more days where dogs can come. | 09/03/2013 |
| Llandysul | More benches and seats. I am a watercolourist and would love to sit and sketch possibly paint, even more so if dogs are allowed. Being partially disable I like to walk but need to rest often. Thank you for great day. | |
| Tenby | Dogs had lovely time but fixed leads, no extenders as dogs wander. | 03/03/2013 |
| Swansea | Lovely day out – perhaps not the most colourful time to visit but loved the day and environment. Medical gardens could be made even more fascinating if info on efficiency of each plant adjacent to each plant. Generally well worth the visit, diolch. | 08/03/2013 |
| Devon | More info on energy zone could be useful. Thought we could enter the buildings to learn more. Signage could be better, enjoyed our visit though. | |
| Llandysul | Not enough waste bins – otherwise very enjoyable and would visit much more often if dogs allowed. | 09/03/2013 |
| Capel Sion | Have been members but allowed it to lapse as no dogs are allowed in. Very enjoyable place. | |
| Have been a member for years. Would appreciate being able to bring dogs all the time. | 09/03/2013 | |
| Pontyberem | Need bins for dog waste, keep Garden open for dogs at all times and very nice walks. | |
| Abergwili | Enjoyed visiting with our dogs, have often felt mean leaving her at home. Can imagine holiday makers have a big problem in summer during hot weather as no dog can be left in the car. Perhaps dog visits on certain days throughout the year could be introduced? | 10/03/2013 |
